What is the difference between financing and leasing?

Buying a car - delivery options and delivery

Lucian Cars provide delivery options based on the need of the client. When deciding on your delivery preference, our agents will guide you as to the benefits of each option and the respective costs associated. Currently, our main two delivery options are Driven and Trailer deliveries. 

Driven delivery means that your car will be driven from the Lucian Cars’ office, or collected from the seller, and brought to your address by a certified member of staff.  This is charged on a per-mile basis.

Trailer delivery means your car will be delivered to your address on a trailer, so no one will drive it. This usually costs extra for the trailer and the cost per-mile will be included.

How to contact the sellers, dealers and garages?

To facilitate communication between customers and sellers, including dealerships and garages, on the Lucian Cars website, we have implemented the following features:

Contact Forms: Each vehicle listing will have a “Contact Seller” button or a contact form. When customers find a vehicle of interest, they can click on this button or fill out the form to initiate communication. The form will require customers to provide their contact information, such as name, email address, and phone number, along with a message for the seller or dealership. Phone numbers of sellers will only be displayed at their request.

Direct Messaging: Lucian Cars will have a built-in messaging system that allows customers, sdellers and service providers to communicate directly on the platform. Once customers express interest in a particular vehicle, they can send a message to the seller or dealership through the website’s messaging system. Same with purchaisng a vehicle part. This system will ensure privacy and security while enabling smooth and efficient communication.

Phone Call Option: In addition to the online communication options, Lucian Cars will also display the contact phone number of garages or dealership on the listing page. Customers can choose to call the service providers directly if they prefer to have a real-time conversation or seek further information regarding vehicle or services.

Verified Seller and Dealership Badges: To build trust and credibility, Lucian Cars will implement a verification process for sellers and dealerships. Verified sellers and dealerships will receive a badge on their listings, indicating that they have undergone a validation process, and their contact information has been verified. This will assure customers that they are dealing with legitimate and trustworthy sellers.

Dealer & Garage Profiles: Dealerships and Garages collaborating with Lucian Cars, will have dedicated profiles that showcase their inventory, contact information, and customer reviews. This will make it easy for customers to see available products and get in touch with them directly through the website.

Customer Support: Lucian Cars’ dedicated customer support team will assist users with any inquiries or difficulties they encounter on the website. If customers face challenges in contacting sellers or service providers, they can reach out to customer support for prompt assistance.

How long before I receive the vehicle

If the buyer is collecting your car themselves, you’ll be contacted by the buyer within 72 hours after you’ve accepted the offer.
If the dealership is using Lucian Cars to collect the documents, you’ll be contacted by the buyer within 48 hours after Lucian Cars have received your documents.

How to sell a vehicle through Lucian Cars?

Selling through Lucian Cars is very easy, and our specialist can assist doing posting your vehicle if requested. 

On our dashboard, click “Sell” and follow the directions to populate basic details about your vehicle. Clear photographs of your vehicle would need to be uploaded to give potential buyers an overall concept of the vehicle. The recommended list to use when taking out photos is as follows: 

  • Exterior Front View
  • Exterior Rear View
  • Side Profiles;  including a close-up of wheels and tires to show tire condition and wheel design
  • Interior Front View; including the dashboard, instrument cluster, center console, and odometer.
  • Interior Rear View; including back seats ad back mirror 
  • Trunk Area
  • Under the Hood/Engine Bay
  • Close-ups on any Unique Features:

When you finish creating your listing and have submitted it for vetting, our team will call you to ensure your listing details are correct so we can add your vehicle. The listing will be advertised for 30 days and, at your request, can be featured on our website for an additional cost. You will be free to communicate with potential buyers and accept an offer that best suits you during this time. A sold sign will be placed on your vehicle if the 30 days period has not elapsed before the final sale.

The Lucian Cars team or your buyer will contact you to discuss the documents needed to sell your vehicle and to arrange collection. On collection day, your vehicle will be inspected to authenticate the listing and, upon satisfaction, will be collected after payment arrangements have been arranged and agreed on.

How to add/change the options of my vehicle?

To streamline the process of adding or changing options for a listed vehicle on the Lucian Cars website, we have implemented two convenient methods for customers:

Method 1: Through the Account Icon

  1. Log in to the Lucian Cars website using your registered credentials.
  2. Once logged in, navigate to the “Account Icon” on the right-hand side of the dashboard. 
  3. Click on the account icon to open the dropdown menu.
  4. From the dropdown menu, click on the “Listing” option. This will lead you directly to the page where you can view and manage your listed vehicles.
  5. On the “Listing” page, you will have the option to add or edit the details and options of any of your listed vehicles as needed.
  6. Make the desired changes, and don’t forget to save your updated information.

Method 2: Through the Account Page

If you are on your account page, follow these steps to get to your listings: 

  1. Navigate to the list on the left-hand side of your Account page and click on “Orders”.
  2. On the Orders page, click the Listing button to redirect you to that page. 
  3. Make the necessary changes, and remember to save the updated information.

Both of these methods provide customers with easy and efficient ways to access their vehicle listings and make any desired modifications. Whether using the shortcut link on the account icon or accessing it through the “Orders” section, Lucian Cars’ aim is to ensure a user-friendly experience for our valued customers throughout their vehicle-selling journey.

If the dealership is using Lucian Cars to collect the documents, you’ll be contacted by the buyer within 48 hours after Lucian Cars have received your documents.

I sold my vehicle! What now?

Congratulations, you’ve sold your vehicle! So let’s get ready for collection.

First, you need to get your documents ready:

  1. Transfer of Ownership Document – this is the  document you’ll have been given when you are about to sell your vehicle. This document is essential to selling your car and if you don’t have it at this point (because you lost it or it fell behind the sofa), contact the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure now to obtain it – you can get it the same day.
  2. Handbook– this is the official manufacturer’s guide that came with the car
  3. Insurance Document – a stamped document containing your car’s insurance. For some insurances this can also be a digital version.
  4. Copy of your driver’s licence (if expired) Apply Now.
  5. Finance settlement letter (if applicable)
  6. Photos of the keys – make sure you dig out any spares!

When the dealer or seller has your documents, they will start arranging the collection date that’s suitable for both of you and upon collection, they will inspect the car. As long as it’s as described in the listing, they will take it and arrange payment.

They will inspect the car to ensure it is as described in the listing and sometimes the seller will take the car out for a quick test drive. 

As long as it’s as described in the listing, they will take it and the arrange payment will be awarded to you. 


Most payments will be processed on the same day, however, some dealers have a slightly different policy, and payments are made 3-5 business day(s). My car didn't sell in the auction. What now?

Don’t be disappointed if your vehicle didn’t sell in auction. We will send you all the offers that we received so you can choose which one you’d like to accept. 
We will also advertise your car for another two working days and will keep inviting buyers to give you their best offers. If your reserve is met or you accept an offer, your car will be sold to the winning dealer. 

 

When your car is sold, we will confirm with you the next steps. Either the buyer or Lucian Cars will contact you to let you know what happens next. This is usually within 48 hours to start arranging collection and payment.

Is selling my car through Lucian Car free?

Lucian Cars doesn’t charge you to sell your vehicle. It’s totally free and without obligation to sell if you don’t find an offer to suit you. Simply enter your details here, and upload photos and your vehicle will be place online and be available to all Lucians and trusted buyers to make their best offers. 

If you do sell your car to one of our buyers, you won’t be charged a penny for doing so – every dollar you get is yours to keep. You’ll be paid by through Lucian Cars or the buyer directly!
